ADVANCE Faculty Development Mini–grant Program

The ADVANCE Faculty Development Mini-Grants are designed to support professional development activities for faculty in the ADVANCE participating departments.

Uses of Mini–grant Funds

You might use these funds to pay your registration or other expenses for a workshop or professional seminar (on or off campus, or perhaps in association with a meeting of a professional society), or to participate in a teaching-improvement activity such as the GRASP program offered by the NMSU Space Grant Consortium. Such activities might assist you in time management, writing and productivity, teaching effectiveness, becoming a supervisor or manager of your research group, or considering the move to administration.

Award Amount

Mini-grants are limited to a maximum of $500 per person.

Application Process

Applications are accepted at any time. The Faculty Development Subcommittee will consider applications and make funding decisions on a monthly basis. Therefore it’s important that you allow for a lead time of at least two months or more, depending on requirements for advance registration for the activity.
